Country Sweet Sauce Recipe
Ever wonder how to make country sweet sauce? Or maybe you know that ketchup can be ruined by too much sugar in it? Well, if the latter is the case, then this recipe will save you the trouble of making too many ketchup sandwiches. This recipe is one of my favorites. It’s simple and delicious.
Country sweet sauce is a simple, delicious condiment that you just love to get on your food because you know you can’t get it any other place. It’s a hot sauce that tastes great added to a basket of fried eggs or a fried chicken sandwich. You can use it on any food you love.
While this sauce will make a great presentation on a buffet or at a fancy dinner party, it’s also great for everyday cooking. The sauce goes well with almost anything, from chicken to shrimp to vegetables. I love it with my meatloaf, baloney sandwiches, or just with popcorn. You’ll need some salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
How to make a Country Sweet Sauce
Sweet sauces are one of the most common types of sauces in the world. When you’re making your own sweet sauces, you must start by making sauces that taste like the real thing. There are many different types of sweet sauces, but one of the most popular varieties is the country-style sweet sauce.
Ingredients
- Water, 1/2 cups
- Apple cider vinegar (any choice), 1 cup
- Onion powder, 1/2 tsp
- Garlic powder, 1 – 1/2 tsp
- Liquid smoke (if available), 1/2 tsp
- Citric acid, 1 tsp
- Salt to taste, 1/2 tsp
- Ground mustard, 1/2 tsp
- Paprika for the heat level, 1/2 tsp
- Extract powder (any choice), 1/2 tsp
- Tomato paste, 1/2 cups
- Glucomannan, 1 – 1/2 tsp
Instructions
Step 1:
Start by making a thick, saucy texture. In a bowl, combine water and apple cider vinegar. To enhance the spicy tang of the sauce, add onion and garlic powder.
Step 2:
Continue adding ground mustard, citric acid, and extract one by one. The sauce mixture should be transferred to a saucepan and heated over medium heat. Add salt and paprika to your sauce for a spicy kick.
Step 3:
Pour the tomato paste into the pan and stir all the ingredients together. Stirring the sauce continuously will prevent it from burning at the bottom.
Step 4:
As a final step, add glucomannan to give the Country Sweet sauce a sweet texture. Cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat. When the saucy layer becomes thicker, remove from heat and place in a bowl.
After the sauce has cooled, place them in a jar and you are ready to serve your homemade mild sauce.
