Blackberry Wine Sangria

Blackberry wine sangria is a great idea, but it’s not something that I’ve ever actually done before. I’m always on the lookout for new and different recipes to try, and this recipe caught my eye because of its simplicity. Sangria is a party drink that is popular throughout the summer in Spain, and there have been blackberry recipes made with it in the past.

Ingredients

  • Granulated white sugar, 2/3 cup
  • Water, 1/3 cup
  • Slightly sliced blackberries about 4 ounces plus 6 ounces in separate.
  • Blackberry Simple Syrup
  • Dry red wine, 50 ml bottle
  • Ginger ale about 24 ounces
  • Brandy (I prefer using Christian Brothers), 1/2 cup
  • 1 slices lime cut into thin slices
  • 2 medium oranges
  • Ice

Step By Step Instructions To Make Blackberry Wine Sangria

Step 1

The first step is to make the blackberry syrup. A small saucepan is needed for this.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, bring 1/3 cup of water to a boil and then add 2/3 cup of granulated white sugar. Boil the sugar water until it is clear and the sugar is completely melted.

Step 3

Add the 4 ounces of blackberries to the pot when it is done, and lower the heat to simmer.

Step 4

During the last 10 minutes of cooking, let the blackberries simmer.

Step 5

Turn off the heat when the blackberries are soft and mushy. Let them cool at room temperature.

Step 6

Pour the blackberry syrup into a small bowl and sieve when it is cold enough to handle. Pour the blackberries slowly through the sieve or cheesecloth. To obtain the clear blackberry syrup, squeeze it with a spoon or by hand.

Step 7

Keep the bowl in the fridge for 10 minutes after the squeezing has been completed.

Step 8

you will need a mason jar or pitcher.

Step 9

In a 750 ml bottle, combine 750 ml dry red wine, 1/2 cup of brandy, blackberry syrup, and 750 ml brandy (I have used Il Duca Imperiale Red Wine, but you may substitute any red wine). Stir the ingredients together.

Step 10

Lastly, place the fruits into the mason jar: 6 ounces of blackberries, 2 oranges (sliced), lime slices, lemon wedges, etc.

Step 11

Let it sit overnight with a loosely covered mason jar. By keeping it for a longer period of time, the fruit can be fully infused into the wine. This gives it a fruity punch.

Step 12

Take two or three Collin glasses and one or two ice cubes. Pour the blackberry sangria and add ginger ale to adjust the flavor of the sweet, fruity punch.

Now you can enjoy your blackberry sangria. If you are not thinking about drinking all alone, share the drink with family, friends, and loved ones.

Carrabba’s Red Sangria Recipe is such a great drink, don’t you think so? It’s fun, it’s bold, and it’s bold red. It should be served at events, not as a side dish. And, in terms of server selection, it’s the perfect thing for brunch or dinner parties, not a beverage for the kids. But, it does so much more than just have a bold taste, it has a sophisticated look. No wonder sangria is the perfect match for red and white.
