  • 1 cup water
  • 1⁄8 cup cornstarch
  • 1⁄2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1⁄4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon celery seed

Step By Step Instructions To Make Bob Evans Colonial Dressing

Step 1

Blend water and cornstarch on high speed for about 1 minute or until smooth. Then transfer the mixture to a 2-1/2-quart saucepan.

Step 2

Over medium-high heat, cook the mixture, stirring constantly. add the remaining ingredients, stir well after each addition. Stir mixture until it thickens and becomes smooth.

Step 3

Let cool completely before transferring to a refrigerator container. Keep the cap tightly closed. It keeps for about six weeks. Please do not freeze. 

For a Creamy Italian Colonial

Prepare the previous recipe , then add 1 tablespoon mustard, 1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves, 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Stir well to combine. Keep refrigerated. Please do not freeze.

For The Catalina Colonial

To prepare the recipe, add 1 cup ketchup and 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish.

For The Creamy Onion Dressing

Add one carton of onion chip dip (8 ounces). Please do not freeze.

For The Slaw Dressing

Add half a cup of sour cream and half a cup of mayonnaise. Use within 1 week. Do not freeze. Enjoy
