How To Make Golden Corral Rolls
Golden Corral is one of my favourite places to eat at, and I’ve tried making these rolls before but they didn’t taste like the ones from GC. So I decided to make this recipe again with some modifications, and now they taste just like the real thing! These are super easy to make and you can enjoy them with your family or friends at any time. Let’s get started with this easy golden corral rolls recipe.
Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour (sifted), 4 1/2 cups
- Water (very warm), 1/4 cup
- Sugar, 1/3 cup
- Butter, 1/4 cup
- Salt, 1 teaspoon
- Scalding hot milk, 1 cup
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
- Active Dry Yeast, 1 Package
- Butter (melted), 2 tablespoons
Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix yeast with very warm water. Mix until yeast dissolves.
Step 2
Melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine, sugar and salt in hot milk until the sugar dissolves. Let mixture cool to 105 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 3
Mix milk mixture with yeast, then adds the egg. Stir in 4 cups of flour at a time, 1 cup at a time, to form a soft dough. The remaining 1/2 cup of flour can be used to dust a pastry cloth.
Step 4
For 5 minutes, lightly knead the dough. Transfer the dough into a bowl coated with butter.
Step 5
Place the dough in a warm place and let it rise for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. On a lightly floured pastry cloth, punch the dough down and knead it for 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 6
If the dough is sticky, use as little flour as possible for flouring your hands and the pastry cloth, otherwise, the rolls will not be as light as they should be.
Step 7
Make small rolls from the dough, measuring 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Arrange neatly in a well-buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, not quite touching.
Step 8
Allow rolls to rise in a warm place for 30 to 40 minutes until they are doubled in size. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter or margarine, then bake until nicely browned at 375°F for 18 to 20 minutes.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and Serve warm with plenty of butter.
