How To Make Unbelievably Moist Turkey Meatloaf
There are many types of meatloaf recipes out there, but aside from the fact that there are hundreds of variations you can make, the recipes vary in the exact way they are cooked. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, meatloaf is cooked at a temperature of between 145 and 155 degrees.
However, many people make their meatloaf at a much higher temperature than that, boiling it for over an hour. Ingredients
- Ground turkey mince (92% lean), 1 ¼ pound
- Mushrooms (finely chopped), 8 ounces
- Bread crumbs, 1 cup
- Medium onion, (finely chopped), 1
- Garlic cloves minced, 2
- Oil, 1 tablespoon
- Sea salt, 3/4 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon
- Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon
- Ketchup, 7 tablespoons
- Milk, 1/3 cup
- Eggs (lightly beaten), 2
Instructions
Step 1
Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Using aluminum foil, lightly oil a rimmed baking sheet.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the oil over low heat. Add the onion and cook until soft, stirring occasionally. Cook the garlic for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
Step 3
Add the mushrooms, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. For about 10 minutes, you need to cook the mushrooms until they give off their liquid.
Step 4
Stir the Worcestershire sauce and three tablespoons of ketchup into the onions and mushrooms in a large bowl. Let cool for 5 minutes.
