How To Make Bo Berry Biscuit

The Bo Berry Biscuit Recipe is a traditional southern recipe that has been passed down for generations. It’s delicious, easy to make and most importantly it tastes great! For those who follow the recipe exactly you will be rewarded with perfect biscuits every time they’re made.

Ingredients

For The Biscuits:

  • Flour, 2 cups
  • Nonfat milk, 1 cup
  • Sugar, 1⁄3 cup
  • Butter, 5 tablespoons
  • Baking powder, 4 teaspoons
  • Salt, 1 teaspoon
  • Dried blueberries, 3 oz

For The Glaze

  • Powdered sugar (shifted), 1 cup
  • Water, 1⁄8 cup
  • Vanilla, 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice, 1⁄2 teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1

Make sure butter is frozen an hour before baking.

Step 2

Heat the oven to 450°F. Combine the salt, sugar, flour, and baking powder. Combine well.

Step 3

Mix the dry ingredients with the super cold milk. As dough begins to form, break off chunks of hardened solidified butter and sprinkle evenly over dough.

Step 4

Once the butter is evenly distributed throughout the dough, fold and knead the dough again.

Step 5

On a floured cutting board, roll the dough out to about 14 to 12 mm thick, and cut out approximately 6 BoBerry Biscuits with a biscuit cutter.

Step 6

The dough may need to be returned to the freezer for 10-15 minutes if the butter starts to melt. Don’t take more than 20, as the baking powder’s 1st stage becomes inactive after that. Place in the oven and bake seven to twelve minutes.

Step 7

In the microwave, melt 1 tablespoon low-fat butter, and paint the biscuits with it.

Step 8

Mix glaze ingredients together in a bowl, and pour over BoBerry Biscuits with a fork.
