For the cake:
- 1 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 3 Large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups Cake flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch round pan.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a big bowl.
Add eggs one by one, and mix well after each.
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
Gradually mix dry stuff with buttermilk and vanilla extract.
Pour batter into pan, and bake for 45-50 mins, toothpick should come clean.
For the glaze, cook butter, sugar, water, and vanilla until thickened.
After baking, cool in a pan for 5 mins, then on a rack.
Pour glaze on the cooled cake, and let it flow.
