Hamura saimin is a dish that has been around for years. It is one of the most popular dishes in Hawaii, and even people outside of the islands have fallen in love with it. The only thing you need to make this tasty dish are instant ramen noodles, soy sauce, salt, sugar, green peas, eggs, and ham. Throw all these ingredients together into a pot and let them simmer! Then enjoy your delicious meal!
All ingredients (except salt and MSG) should be boiled.
Reduce the heat and simmer covered over low heat for about two hours. At the very end, add salt and MSG.
Saimin:
Soba noodles should be boiled until tender on medium high heat. Rinse under warm running water after straining out excess water.
Add the dashi konbu and ginger to a large pot. Heat over medium heat.
Turn the heat down to low. Add the soy sauce and the toppings of your choice. Continue to simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat when the toppings are done cooking.
In a large soup bowl, place the cooked soba noodles.
Serve immediately with the broth mixture and selected toppings.
