For the Mac & Cheese Patties: 1 batch Macaroni and cheese (prepared) 2 Tablespoons Grated parmesan cheese 1 cup Breadcrumbs 2 Eggs (beaten) ½ cup All purpose flour 1 teaspoon Paprika ½ teaspoon Seasoned salt For the cheese sauce: 2 Tablespoons Butter 1 cup Evaporated milk 1 teaspoon Paprika ½ teaspoon Salt ½ teaspoon Garlic powder 5 dashes Hot sauce 2 cups Cheddar cheese For the burgers: 6 Sesame buns 6 Burger patties To serve: Lettuce Tomato slices Pickles Onion slices Mayonnaise
For the Mac & Cheese patties: Set the oven to 400 degrees.
Put parchment paper on a baking sheet and set it aside.
Place the macaroni and cheese in a large bowl. Add the eggs and stir until well combined.
Mix together the flour, paprika, seasoned salt, parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs.
Add the dry mixture to the macaroni.
Shape burger-style patties with your hands, pressing firmly to keep them together. Place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until crisp and cooked through.
For the Cheese Sauce: Put the butter in a small saucepan. Melt the butter over medium-low heat.
Then add evaporated milk, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and hot sauce and continue to cook until warmed through.
Stir in the cheese, 1/2 cup at a time, until melted.
Immediately remove from heat.
To assemble: Prepare a bun base. You can top the sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, or mayonnaise as you like.
Then add a mac & cheese patty and a good helping of cheese sauce. Finally, top with another bun.
If desired, serve immediately with fries.
